For past two weeks, I have been back at the gym frequently. Mostly because I lost my job. No need to say sorry or show sympathy – I hated that job. However, I am taking advantage of all this free time in a positive way.
By doing something positive, it made me feel fulfilled. When I go into an interview, this will shine through. However, there just needs to be more jobs available out there. It will all come over time though. I am not worried.
Regardless, this brought me to an important topic that I wanted to bring up today. For the past six months, I was in a position where I was not happy. When I reached this point, I did not make a change until I had no choice. I continued to mope through each day miserably.
When that happened, I felt like I was not taking care of myself well. I ate poorly, gained weight and felt grumpy all the time. This is not how life should ever feel. If something is bringing you down, make a change.
Here is a great quote:
“For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” – Steve Jobs
