Leafy Pear Smoothie

Leafy Pear Smoothie
Tonight, I was in the mood something different to sip on.  I pulled out the Smoothie Bible by Pat Crocker.  My drink of choice was the Leafy Pear.  It is simple to make and the ingredients are easy to find.  According to the book, this smoothie is good for helping with the following ailments:

  • AIDS & HIV
  • Menopause
  • Peptic ulcers (gastric & duodenal ulcers)
  • Prostate enlargement, benign
  • Skin conditions (acne, dry skin, psoriasis & rosacea)
  • Smoking (quitting)
  • Varicose veins & hemorrhoids
  • Water retention
Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of apple juice (125 mL)
  • 2 pears, quartered
  • 2 kale leaves, chopped
  • 1 tbsp of chopped fresh parsely (15 mL)
  • 2 ice cubes

 
Directions:

  1. In a blender, combine apple juice, pears, kale, parsley and ice.
  2. Secure the lid and process using the chop or pulse option until smooth.
  3. Enjoy!
